A Frigidaire electric clothes dryer is subject to the same common problems as any other clothes dryer. Perhaps the dryer does not start when you turn the start switch. The dryer might run, but it does not get hot. Maybe the motor runs, but the drum does not spin. All these problems are easy to troubleshoot and repair, even for a beginner.
No Heat
A dryer that runs but does not heat up is a common problem and one that is easy to diagnose and repair. The heating circuit of a Frigidaire dryer consists of a heating element, a high-limit thermostat, a thermal fuse and an operating thermostat. Many dryers require the removal of the dryer's rear panel to access these thermostats; however, with a Frigidaire dryer, you need only to open the top panel by releasing the two spring catches at the front right and left corners. To release the catches, push them toward the rear of the dryer, using a putty knife. To test the high-limit thermostat, operating thermostat and heating element, use a digital multimeter set to its 'R X 1' or “Continuity” function. To test a thermostat, remove the wires from one of the connectors and one of the meter's probes to each of the connectors. A good thermostat will display a “0.000” on the meter's LCD. A defective thermostat will display a “O.L.” on the LCD, indicating no continuity. To test the heating element, remove the wires from its terminals and test between the terminals, using the digital multimeter. A good heating element will display a resistance of 10 to 20 Ohms on the meter's LCD. Like the thermostats, a bad heating element will display a “O.L.” on the LCD screen. The thermal fuse is a safety fuse that opens when the high-limit safety thermostat fails to open. Test the thermal fuse the same as a thermostat.
Not Enough Heat
This is one of those problems that point you directly to the cause. A dryer that does not get hot enough indicates an operating thermostat or high-limit thermostat that is opening at too low a temperature. Thermostats can be tested for their opening and closing points; however, it requires specialized testing equipment that only the professionals can afford. You are better off replacing both thermostats.

Does not Tumble
A Frigidaire electric dryer that heats up, the motor runs, but the drum does not turn is another problem that can be self-diagnosed. The cause of the problem is a broken drum drive belt, or a badly stretched drive belt. To replace the drive belt, open the top panel and remove the front panel of the dryer which is held in place by screws at the top right and left inside corners of the dryer.
Noisy Dryers
A noisy Frigidaire electric dryer is a symptom of worn front drum glides, a worn rear drum support bearing or a seized idler pulley. To repair these problems, replace the defective parts. Replacing the rear drum support bearing or front glides requires opening the dryer and pulling the drum from it. When replacing a seized idler pulley, it is a good idea to replace the drum drive belt at the same time because the old one will have been stretched or burned.

I’ve been using this Frigidaire Crown Series clothes dryer for almost four years now. The dryer, along with most major appliances in my house, belonged to the previous homeowners, and they included these items in our home purchase. It made life so much easier to know we’d be able to do laundry and put groceries in the fridge as soon as we moved in, without worrying about shopping for new, expensive appliances. The Frigidaire dryer - FDGB23RGS1 - goes with our Frigidaire washer, which I also recently reviewed. As with the washer, the dryer is almost ten years old, and we use it on a very regular basis as we have a very active household. Though the dryer is a very bottom-of-the-line, basic model, and is older than my son, it has held up rather well under such heavy use.

dryer operates on gas hook-ups, and seems to be pretty efficient in comparison with using an electric dryer. So I appreciate the savings on my electric bill, however, I know that this dryer is far from as efficient as it could or should be. It seems to be taking longer and longer for clothes to actually become dry, and this has gotten progressively worse as the years go by.Frigidaire Crown Series Dryer Manual Pdf
The lint trap, and the fixed portion of the lint trap track, broke over a year ago. The plastic just snapped. I have managed to keep using it by means of the cracks fitting nicely together when you slide them in just right, and finally, superglue! Good old superglue.
The dryer actually gave out a few months ago, and luckily my husband was able to fix it to the point where we ...
